Born in Los Angeles, raised in Guatemala, I’m a 33 year old bilingual video editor. 

As a child I found interest in music, video games, films and the process of how they are made. I still remember watching the Lion King and the emotional attachment I felt to what I saw on screen. Growing up in Guatemala, I was hyper aware of the limited opportunities presented. I knew I had to dive into something that drove my creativity, spoke to my passions, and afforded me the life I wanted to live. 

After finishing high school, I decided to leave my comfort and embark on a new journey in Guadalajara, Mexico to attend UNIAT (University of Advanced Technology). It was there that I dove into my passion, opened up to new experiences and pursued my dream of a better life for myself and my family. 

During my first year at University, my first intention was to dive into 3D modeling and animation, however, things shifted after being involved in a few productions and the passion for filmmaking intensified. On assignment, I created videoclips and advertising for the Guatemalan government, which provided clarity to my decision. I graduated with a Bachelors in Filmmaking and Digital Animation. 

Upon graduating, I began my career in a small agency in Mexico. There I was given the creativity and liberty to not only edit but direct and be behind the camera. The agency recorded weekly commercials for a local department store and within the span of a year, I recorded, edited, created graphics for over 130 commercials. Given the limitations of a small agency, I understood the growth opportunities were minimal. If I wanted to continue to pursue my career at a higher level, I knew it was time for change.  

I decided to move back to the city I was born in. There, I was welcomed by my aunt and cousins, who opened their home while I got on my feet. A few months of applying lead to a position at Quantasy, where I have been for the last 7 years. It is there that I believe my career has blossomed. Working with clients I never imagined, meeting people I could only dream of, truly expressing my creativity, providing a free workflow and given a voice in the room to make decisions.

I work and push myself to continue creating. Editing, motion graphics, camera work (photography and videographer) either being first and only camera working 1 on 1 with clients or being the 2nd camera to help in a bigger production, or as an assistant in lighting or preparing stages in their own personal studio in house. I pride myself on being an overachiever and team player. 

I am hyper focused on my career aspirations, looking to open new doors of opportunity, growing with a new team and creating some of my best work. My goal from day one has still remained, making a name for myself, providing for my family and giving back to those who have helped me succeed.
